Responsibilities

  • Coordinates across support teams to swiftly resolve disruptions to Power BI services, performs root cause analysis, and implements preventative measures.
  • Approves production readiness of Power BI solutions and application deployments.
  • Reviews performance trends across the broader technology portfolio and initiates actions to address areas at risk for potential impacts.
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of Power BI platform components, including workspace management, report development, and dashboard optimization.
  • Administers processes related to code management and deployment, leveraging automation tools such as Python, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Provides feedback and mentoring to team members, ensuring adherence to best practices and policies.
  • May lead initiatives of varying degrees of complexity, including platform upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning projects.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation to ensure timely resolution of critical issues.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends and technologies, proactively recommending improvements to the platform.
  • Evaluates capacity utilization and initiates projects to address areas of excess and shortages.
  • Engages with various teams to implement performance tuning recommendations and optimize platform operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of total relevant work experience in Power BI administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of Power BI tools, including workspace management, report development, and dashboard optimization.
  • Proficiency in code migration across environments (Development to Test, Staging to Prod etc.) via automation for automation and deployment. (python ansible etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills for investigating and resolving platform issues, including root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) that can be tailored depending on the audience (from technical teams to senior management).
  • Ability to participate in off-hour work, including scheduled on-call rotations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as lead others, including implementing new technology or leading critical situation calls to resolve incidents effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
